PR Move of the Day:Heisman candidates this year (save the “Booties4Booty” website), so it was with great pleasure that we saw the Toronto Raptors’ Chris Bosh come up with a very unique viral campaign to garner All-Star votes on his site.?chris-bosh.com. The video has nothing to do with the young stars’ on-court ability, it is a great effort to show his personality (albeit as a used car salesman) and his ability not to take himself too seriously. Hopefully it is successful (it had a nice SportsCenter run last night) and leads to more athletes and teams getting buy-in to use the viral space successfully. The video is linked above.
Speaking of the viral space, Media Post had a nice piece today on Chick-Fill-A and their big entry into the viral environment with a “greatest fan” contest. It is a good followup to their Bowl exposure and leads nicely into and through all their large college sports participation throughout the Southeast. Also .nice q and a with the King of the space in sports, MLB.com's Bob Bowman, on the Business of Baseball site is worth checking out…and another interesting piece worth noting recently was Darren Rovell'slawsuit between Western Kentucky and the owners of Gabibbo, which is basically the Italian version of Barney. The mascots looks are very similar and New Year's Eve the Hilltoppers lost the first round in court, which is not a good thing for Italian Expats living in Bowling Green.
